around the interwebs,  featured

just three things

I’ve been trying to get motivated to get in the habit of my old “around the interwebs” posts, but there is just so much to recommend. I decided I would limit myself to sharing just three things in hopes of actually doing it.

Things to do when a marginalized person shares their story with you

This is older, but I came across it last week. I actually thought it had some helpful reminders for when anyone shares their story and some practical ways to practice empathy, which God knows we need more of these days.

In most cases, olive oil on high-ish heat is okay.

I’ve written about different smokes points on the blog before before, but Rennie makes some great points here. I always wondered about the olive oil “rules” because my favorite Italian cookbook author starts most of her recipes sauteing some onions and garlic in olive oil.

Rob Bell on The Lively Show

My brain still hurts from listening to this. I have become a complete geek about quantum physics. I’m not sure how this happened. But don’t let that scare you – Jess and Rob make this super complicated stuff actually make sense, and it all basically blew my mind.

We will see if this idea lasts a bit longer since it’s such a short list…leave your favorites from around the interwebs in the comments!

Listening to the podcast now, and mind-blowing is definitely the right word! I LOVE it, and especially the concept of “extinction barks” that they’re talking about. Puts a lot of things into perspective. 😉
