just three things: september 15, 2017

Shockingly, I fell off the just-three-things wagon! The last several weeks have been heavy and full, and I just didn’t make it around to sharing anything. Here’s my attempt to jump back on the train with some good stuff:

  1. We don’t have tons of greens right now (although hopefully these cool nights will change that soon), so I loved these ideas to spice up my salad ideas in general. We eat tons of soups basically all year-round except for summer, but we try to have a salad of some sort with every dinner at least. #liveseasonally
  2. This whole thing was so convicting. “When trouble isn’t close enough to see or smell or touch, when it’s not possible to heave a portion of the burden onto my own shoulder, I have to find a different way to sacrifice. When “helping” doesn’t cost me something, my commitment usually doesn’t endure.” BAM!
  3. Brene on Jen Hatmaker’s podcast was like a conglomeration of some of the best of what I’ve learned from her over the years. BB has taught me so much over the last three years, but she really seems to have hit a higher level lately.
  4. One more because I took a few weeks off…this might be the best thing I listen to all year. I’ll be chewing on it for at least the rest of 2017. “Love like it’s going to end because it is.” Ryan starts talking at the 30 minute mark, but Eastlake’s intro at the beginning is worth listening to as well.

Side note: I’ll have a full review soon, but I am loving Anne Bogel’s Reading People: Discover How Seeing the World through the Lens of Personality Changes Everything. It doesn’t come out until Tuesday, but I’m sharing here because she has some great pre-order bonuses if you order before September 19th.

Happy September weekending, friends! How great are Midwest Septembers?!
